Buddy-Not-Bud, Not-Bud-Buddy, and Not-Buddy-Bud

One day there was a creator who loved making robots. He made a robot one day and named it Buddy-Not-Bud. The creator made the robot so that the robot could do all of the chores he had to do.

Suddenly, after years of doing all of the orders from Buddy-Not-Bud’s creator, he realized he didn’t want to be his servant his whole entire life. He ran off to a different location far, far away from the location of his old home.

When Buddy-Not-Bud realized what he was doing was not the best idea he had in his life, it was pretty clear that it was too late to turn back to his old home. He regretted everything he did. He also realized that he needed a special kind of food energy source, that only his creator had for him. That was when he started feeling hungry because he was thinking about food.

Ironically, there was another robot that got in the same situation as Buddy-Not-Bud! There was a robot that ditched his creator because of mistreatment. The robot’s name was Not-Bud-Buddy. It was kind of like Buddy-Not-Bud’s name but switched around. Not-Bud-Buddy felt just like Buddy-Not-Bud.

Ironically, again, there was another robot named Not-Buddy-Bud.

Pitbulls

Dear People of Michigan,

I’m not really just talking about Michiganders! I’m talking about the people that talk bad about pitbulls. I have my own dog that is a pitbull, and his name Peanut Butter.

Me and my family adopted Peanut Butter at a dog shelter in Huron Valley. Me and my family love him so much! Unfortunately, we don’t take him on walks very often. We are afraid that people will feel threatened or scared by him! So we try not to let him see too many strangers out in public. We are not taking any chances!! You are the ones that are afraid from him! My pitbull is probably more scared of you than you will ever be of him!! Peanut Butter was so scared when we first saw him. At first we saw him in a huge cage in the shelter. We wanted to meet him so we got put in a room with him and Peanut Butter was so scared of us. I know that I would never do anything to an animal to harm it in any way, shape, or form. Anyway, Peanut Butter was trying to get used to us, but I guess his body refused. I know that because he was shaking like a horse trying to get flies off of it! He was acting like he was having a seizure! I was actually concerned! Although, I think me and Peanut Butter REALLY CLICKED!! If you just give them a chance they won’t be very scary. Saying that pitbulls are bad is just an offensive stereotype. It isn’t very nice to say. It’s not like the dogs will understand you, but just to not hurt people’s feelings about their love of pitbulls, I suggest that you don’t say that. Especially in public!! Love dogs FOREVER!! I always like to say to my dog:

“HUGS AND LICKS FOREVER!!”

One day, a little boy named Odysseus wanted to go an an amazing trip to a land that had lots of cheesecake. He loved cheesecake a lot. As a kid, he always went to a restaurant called the Cheesecake Factory. Then, as he got older, in 1918, he went to a place that nobody else knew about. He and his friends all found an abandoned boat at the bottom of the sea. They all fixed and approved it. Then they all travelled to an amazing place that they found on the Internet. They thought about how amazing it would be to go on a boat trip all the way to an amazing place that no one knew about. Then, the next day, they travelled to the mysterious place. When they arrived at land, they all noticed a strange smell of cheesecake. They knew it was not normal. So, when they got out of the boat, they saw cheesecake and other people. They were very disappointed to see other humans there.

One day there was a family. Two of the youngest kids had an 826 Drop-in Writing class. Right after school they went to Ann Arbor. Their writing class was a two-session class. So this time they were going to the second session of the class.

The girl was two years older than the other person, which was a boy. The other one was a girl. The little boy was eight years old. The girl was ten years old. They went to the workshop.

The girl remembered that she saw a cool toy that she wanted to play with, but the boy in front of her (who was closer) took the toy that she wanted to play with. She was very upset. She wanted to ask the boy for it back, but she thought that it would be rude. So she did not say anything to the boy that took it before her. She did not say anything or do anything, except watch the other boy play with it the whole writing class.

But at the next writing class she was trying to look for it instead of the boy taking it from her. When she found it, she found it on a tall shelf. She reached for it very hard. She felt a huge weight coming off of her shoulders. She was very, very, very happy that she got the toy that she wanted to play with at the first time. The instructor told all of them to get a piece of paper to write a mystery. So when she went to go get a paper, she came back after she got a paper. And then she noticed that the toy that she got from the high shelf was missing! She was very worried and upset again. Then she later saw her younger brother had the toy that she was looking for. She asked the brother what she did with it. The brother said, “Nothing!” The older sister looked at the younger brother very, very, very mysteriously. The older sister said, “I know you took it! So where is it?

Diary of a Bat

By: Maia Sears, 10

Dear diary,

This morning, I woke up upside-down. My parents woke me up so that I wouldn’t be late for flying practice. If I slept in late, then my mom wouldn’t be happy. While I was stretching (upside-down), I stretched out and accidentally fell on top of my mom while she was waking up the rest of my family. (FYI, my flying practice is seven hours long!) That is probably why Mom doesn’t get me a rock for me to ride on.

When I got to the cave for flying practice, I suddenly remembered that I didn’t have a single fly! Or grasshopper! I tried telling my coach that I didn’t have any piece of food. But, of course, he was too busy teaching how to dive.
