“Katherine! You have to get ready!” my mom yells.

“Mom, seriously do I have to go to this?” I yell back from my room.

“Yes, Katherine!”

“Alright, fine…” I really didn’t want to go to this dance. It was so fancy and royal looking. I knew I would have to dress up in a big blue dress, which was in my mom’s room. Personally, if I could go to this dance in a pair of jeans and a t-shirt, I would.

Another downside to this whole dance thing is that I would have to miss school. Everyone complains about school, but personally I kind of like it. At least I get to miss Computers class. That’s the only upside to this whole thing.

I sit on my mom’s bed trying to put this big, puffy dress on, but it was quite hard. Once I finally get the dress on, I immediately look into a mirror. I was really uncomfortable, but I looked pretty good in this dress. I figured I could last a few hours in this thing.

“Katherine, are you ready?” my mom asks.

“I guess so,” I respond. My mom drives me to the palace where the dance is being held. We walk through the giant doors, with our feet clacking the ground. When we get to the main room, my eyes open wide. In front of me were at least two hundred dresses and two hundred suits. There was also a long snack table that contained a chocolate fountain with strawberries and marshmallows to dip. It also had my very favorite muffins, which I gulfed down quickly.
